About Wisdom of Ghandi

Each spring during the Gandhi/King/Chavez Season of Nonviolence Unity PeaceMakers (UPM) offers a series of classes on the life, wisdom and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.  The four-week series uses the text, The Wisdom of Gandhi by Eknath Easwaran and is led by experienced teachers from UPM and the Gandhi Library.  The format includes short lectures, films and small group discussion.  These classes are offered on a love-offering basis and are open to all.

Learn principles of Ahimsa (nonviolence) and Satyagraha (holding fast to the truth) from the man who said:

• "Be the change you wish to see in the world"
• "My life is my message"
• "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."
• "There are many causes that I am prepared to die for but no causes that I am prepared to kill for."
• My greatest weapon is mute prayer.
• If we wish to create a lasting peace we must begin with the children.

I offer you peace. I offer you love. I offer you friendship. I see your beauty. I hear your need. I feel your feelings. My wisdom flows from the Highest Source. I salute that Source in you. Let us work together for unity and love.
