Licensed Unity Teacher (LUT)Licensed Unity Teacher (LUT)Licensed Unity Teacher , (LUT), is a spiritual course of study and licensure. It provides a consistent base of knowledge and the skills necessary for ethical and excellent leadership in the church and in the classroom. The curricula consists of 25 foundational Unity classes(250 classroom hours), plus 250 additional hours of study, training and practicum curricula, creating a deepening understanding of Unity principles, Servant Leadership and Commitment to living the principles we teach.

Cecile D. Eatherly, LUT

Attending Unity since 1975, Cecile Eatherly became a Licensed Unity
Teacher in 2004. She considers it an honor to serve our congregation as a
teacher and spiritual counselor. She conducts services where needed
and is a Oneness Blessing giver as well. A rich blend of Mother Theresa
and Mae West, Cecile draws on her background as a catholic nun, an
educator, administrator, artist and speaker to teach guide, motivate and
inspire her clients, students and audiences. She invites people to
claim their spiritual birthright by creating a life filled with love,
laughter, health, and abundance, embracing the Light we are.
Frieda King, LUT
Frieda has been an active Licensed Unity Teacher since June 1990. She has served as the Spiritual Leader of the Unity Church in Conroe, Texas. In 1990, Frieda began working on the staff of Unity Church of Christianity in Houston, Texas as a spiritual teacher and pastoral counselor. At Unity Houston she is part of the Oneness ministry, serving as a Oneness Blessing Giver. Frieda founded the Unity Houston senior group and served for 14 years as the Senior Group Leader/Coordinator. Graduating in 1999, Frieda holds a BA degree from University of Houston in English Literature and Creative Writing. She is currently a student in the Ministry and Religious studies Master of Divinity program at Unity Institute, Unity Village, MO.
In preparation for the ministry path, Frieda enjoys experiencing the various facets of ministry through her assigned volunteer positions at Unity Church of Christianity, Howard Caesar, Senior Minister. She has relished in her class work at Unity Institute particularly Writing for the Ministry, Pastoral Counseling II, Bible History, and Metaphysical Theology.
Bill Nelson, LUT
Bill Nelson is a graduate of the United Stated Military Academy and served in the US Army as an infantry small unit commander. Upon leaving the Army Bill worked for IBM in both technical and marketing capacities. He retired from the corporate world in 1992, after being with IBM several years (around the country) and then worked for HL&P in Houston.
Bill who first attended a Unity church in 1979 determined to dedicate his time and efforts primarily to spiritual pursuits upon retirement and has been a Licensed Unity Teacher at Unity Church of Christianity since 1992.
Bill has completed several life coach training courses and is currently a candidate for ICF certification in the Academy for Coaching Excellence Training Program. In addition to teaching, spiritual counseling and now life coaching Bill enjoys occasionally guest speaking at Unity Churches and Centers in the surrounding communities on Sunday mornings.
Dorothy O'Shea, LUT
Dorothy O'Shea has been a Licensed Unity Teacher for eight years and a student of Unity Principles for over 20 years. She has had careers in the public school system, politics, and marketing and sales in the mental health field. Dorothy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma but quickly discovered that her true passion was in teaching adults. She has developed and taught courses in Human Resource Crisis Response, Parenting Skills, Time Management, Organizing Strategies, and Life Management Skills, as well as Unity Classes of Metaphysics, Bible Study, Unity Principles, Communicating From the Heart (Nonviolent Communication) and many others.
Cris Perez, LUT
Cris Perez has been a member of Unity Church of Christianity of Houston for twelve years and served in the Unity Friends Programs for five years as well as the youth and Uniteen programs.
In addition to teaching classes she serves as a Blessing Giver in the Oneness Blessing Program. Cris is also serves as a spiritual counselor at the church during the week and on Sunday mornings.
Cris retired early from a career in Media Relations, which included jobs in television and non-profit organizations.
Marygrace Sorensen, LUT

Marygrace was born and raised in Unity. She has been at Unity Church of Christianity since 1998. She became a Certified Spiritual Educator in 2001 and a Licensed Unity Teacher in 2003. She currently serves as the Children’s Ministry Consultant for the South Central Unity Churches Association and has been working professionally in Unity Ministry since 1993. Marygrace also holds a B.S. in Business, a M.Ed. and is Certified in Executive Non-Profit Leadership by Rice University. She is married and has one son.
Christina Webb, LUT

Christina has been a member of Unity
Houston since 1988, on staff since 1992 as receptionist, Special
Services Coordinator and became a Licensed Unity Teacher in 2001,
serving in all three capacities presently. Christina Webb is from St. Louis, Missouri but got to Texas as soon as she could (1980). She has been a seeker of spiritual truths ever since she can remember and that has been a guiding force in her life. She has a diversified background which includes banking, financial aid, travel and restaurant work. But she found her calling at Unity Church of Christianity in Houston where she is a Licensed Unity Teacher/counselor. She has been a part of Unity Houston for 20 years. She also trained in 2002 to become a Certified Laughter Leader through the World Laughter Tour. Part of her mission is to help bring more humor and joy into people’s lives. Her laughter work has been featured on the front page of Houston’s Lifestyle Section, in ADDitude Magazine and on Channel 2 and 24 News. She is also a writer and has been published in the book, Hot Chocolate for Mystical Lovers.

Kaye Wetzel is a Licensed Unity Teacher
who finds joy in meeting new people, in connecting spiritually with
those she meets, and in speaking from the heart. A Unity student for
approximately fourteen (14) years, she completed the L.U.T. requirements
in the fall of 2004.
Her experiences as a wife, mother, teacher in the U.S. and abroad,
businesswoman, and business owner afford her a varied background from
which to reflect and draw upon life’s lessons, humor, challenges, and
fun. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in German & English
Teacher Education, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the
University of Houston. She served as a Fulbright Foreign Exchange
Teacher and taught English for two years in a college-preparatory school
(a US‘high school equivalent’) in Hamburg, Germany.
Ms. Wetzel is currently a retired business owner, now employed as a
purchasing assistant for a local business located in Sugar Land, Texas.
She is currently taking temporary ‘leave’ from her role as an Adult
Education Teacher and L.U.T. at Unity Church of Christianity, in
Houston, Texas but plans to return to ‘active service’ in the near
future.
