A special Membership Meeting was held on Oct. 25, 2009.  The decision was unanimously made to purchase the adjoining 5 acres of land from the City of Houston.  It was agreed that we, as a congregation, raise the equivalent of 24 months of payments (or $404,000) to be placed in escrow to ease the meeting of the additional monthly expenses.  These donated monies are to be generated from giving that is above and beyond your normal monthly financial support!

We have more good news!  A Matching Funds donor has already committed to $202,000 - half the amount needed for 24 months of payments.  For every dollar you donate OVER and ABOVE your regular gift, this donor will match the gift up to $202,000!  This means that an added gift of $50.00 becomes $100, or $1,000 becomes $2,000.  This is your opportunity to double your gift immediately.  We have until Dec. 31, 2009 to match or exceed the donor's gift of $202,000.  Everyone is invited to participate in this historic and exciting opportunity, whether it is through prayers and/or financial support.
